Magma Energy Services is able to fulfil all your Gas Main Purging, Strength Testing & Commissioning requirements. We own and operate our own purging equipment and can provide all necessary barrier, safety signage, risk assessments and method statements. Gas Operatives are fully qualified and hold CSCS Cards for speedy access onto construction / demolision sites.
For larger sites we can provide a Project Manager and we can carry out investigations to track down all T's from a main. Operatives conduct a safe purge until all explosive gases are removed from the pipe line. Our purge rig contains a fully calibrated gas analyser and the purge can be run until the gas main contains only fresh air. We can provide the necessary Gas Safe paperwork upon completion. Gas main commissioning requires the calculation (design) volume of the gas pipework. New gas mains require strength testing to ensure they have no leaks. We are able to install, test, inspect and commission new gas mains. When the new section of gas main has completed a strength test it is connected to the supply. Our purge rig is errected and internal flow meter is reset. Main is purged until total design volume of air is replaced with gas. The analyser confirms that the main contains only gas and no additional oxygen. Gas Safe Paperwork can be issued on safe commissioning of a gas main.
